An enthusiast photographer has a hard time choosing the right camera, the excellent Nikon D90 of the new Nikon D5000? The former has already wowed many photographers with its superb features. But many claim the D5000 would be much better.

Here is the dilemma of the torn photographer: What would you do if you were me, get the D90 now or wait till May 1st for the D5000? Here are some online reviews that might help you with your problem.

Cloudy: Definitely, the D90 is way better compared to the D5000. You should grab it now before the price skyrockets. I am warning you, the D90 price is shooting up real fast.

hockey_magnet: If the D5000 stays at the $799 price, I think the D90 features are worth paying the extra $ for. The D90 also has the sub command dial, which is significant, particularly when shooting manually.

Mark Stein: It appears that the D5000 is an entry-level camera; the D90, on the other hand, is suited for more serious enthusiast photographers. The D5000 is only about $200 cheaper compared to the D90. Considering the price and specs, the D90 is a better camera for a bit more dollars.

Skaterboy: The D90 screen alone is definitely a major plus (3-inch 920 high-definition video). ‘Nuff said.

Happypopeye: The Nikon D5000 is a new camera, so everyone is all hyped up about it. If you really need to get a DSLR now, then but the Nikon D90. But if you do not need one at the moment. Wait a bit and know when the camera comes out, check if there are problems, and make a wise decision a month after the release of the camera.

Jimmyinnewyork: I bought my D90 two months ago. Seeing the specs of the D5000, it seems I made the right buy. I am happy with the built in focus motor, commander mode, high resolution LCD, etc.
