I picked up some good vacation ideas recently!

Even though the economy is bad, we still need a little vacation now and then. I’ve been doing some research into saving money while still having a nice trip. I’ve been checking out some of the online travel websites. It seems that they all find very similar travel deals when searching for plane fares and hotels.

I can recommend a good website that will lead you to good deals on hotel reservations. Basically you want to use a travel website that has a reputation for providing a trouble-free vacation. Then I was thinking about where to go where it’s easy to find good prices on air travel or where I can drive my car. One obvious choice is Southern California. There are several airports and lots of activities for all seasons of the year.

A lot of vacation ideas are provided at the SoCal Vacation Guru site. It focuses mainly on Orange County and Los Angeles County, but will eventually expand to provide more information on San Diego County and the Inland Empire desert and mountain areas as well. But there’s great information about Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, the beaches, shopping, dining and other activities. There are discussions about saving money and how to arrange for the best trip if you only have a limited amount of time.

If you are a roller coaster fan, the SoCal Vacation Guru compares the major southern california theme parks on their thrill rides (Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott’s Berry Farm win in that category). In fact there are few places in the country where you can visit a half-dozen theme parks within a couple of hours drive from each other.

The SoCal theme parks include Disneyland (with Disney’s California Adventure), Knott’s, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios Hollywood, SeaWorld and Legoland. Of course visiting all of those would not be particularly cheap, but you could fit a lot of vacation fun into a short period of time, so you might save on airfare and hotel reservations.

Winter and Spring are probably good times to schedule a vacation, as the crowds are often lighter then at many Southern California vacation destinations. Compared to other parts of the US, the winter and spring weather in California is very reasonable.

Also, it looks like the economy has a lot of hotels really wanting our business. We might get better deals now if fewer people are taking rooms and buying tickets to theme parks. Anyway, just some things to consider as we live with the recession.

A stairway lift is the best help for old persons

Feb 13, 2009 @ 06:20 pm by articles

A chairlift for stairs is the best solution for old or disabled persons who want to stay independently in their own residence. The chairlift for stairs has been a well-established product in most industrialized countries for many years. There are different suppliers offering stair lifts in those countries. If you are searching a stairway lift in Germany, I can recommend the following site, which gives some fundamental info on German companies: Treppenlift in Hannover.

It is very useful to consider as many aspects as possible before making a final decision because a stair lift is a expensive product. Here are some more points to think about and some major advantages which arise from the use of a staircase lift:

People, whose ability to climb stairs is reduced e.g. by illness, accident or disability, will greatly profit from a stair lift. It is useful to think about reduced bodily ability, which might come with increasing age, and plan the purchase of a chairlift for stairs early enough. So you should collect sufficient information and ask your children or grandchildren to help you. With a stair lift in your house you can reobtain mobility and easily reach every floor of the house. This is interesting not only for house owners but also for tenants of apartments with more than one level. Not only is a stair lift a great help for you to reach upper floors, but you can also use it to transport food, drinks and other stuff upstairs. When searching the right supplier, you should not only consider the rate but also think about other aspects like if there is quick service available in case of malfunction.

Each staircase lift must meet very specific requirements and must be manufactured and installed accurately. It is important to know whether you have a straight staircase or curved staircase. In case of a curved staircase, the whole project will be more expensive. It is recommended to choose one of the main vendors with many years of experience. They will not only provide good service but may also offer deferred payment. The main vendors of chairlifts for stairs provide a nationwide service and distribution system. They should be able to show you an already installed stairway lift at another customers home not far away from your location. Always ask if the first consultation is cost-free. More info on some good German manufacturers can be found here: Treppenlift in Sachsen-Anhalt. Many old people with physical problems can stay in their houses and familiar surroundings with the help of a stairway lift. Some of those people would have to leave their houses if such technical devices were not availabable.

Buying Houses in a Depressed Market

Feb 13, 2009 @ 03:54 pm by articles

Buying  in a Houses in a Down Market is a tricky proposition. Sellers are keen to get the highest prices and buyers the opposite. Everyone can see that Property are depreciating but no one knows where the bottom of the market will be.

To a certain extent this will depend on the level of inflation created by the government’s propping up of the banking system. No one knows the true extent of the banking losses that will be incurred when the commercial property market collapses in 2009 as it is certain to do and exactky what the government repsonse will be. If any.

For those with Homes for sale, one option is to use a free listing site to sell your property without incurring charges. This allows one to reduce the price by not paying an agents commision. This can amount to a substantial reduction. There are already many FSBO sites.

If you are interested in buying luxury property, other options also present them selves. Many luxury only sites now exist. True luxury is hard to define, but if one wanted an Omega Seamaster Watch for example, this might be considered true luxury. Not everyone would agree, but this is true of everything and one man’s luxury is another’s necessity.

In the meantime, luxury goods purveyors are suffering from the global downturn with the rest of us and will have to wait and see how far the crash takes us and how indebted the governments are prepared to make us all.
