Getting back to what I was talking about I really enjoyed Matt Hayes pike video first as you would imagine and thought it was an insight for a newcomer into how to go about targetting pike or would I say essox and a monster he caught too.Matt Hayes also shows you how to take the trebles from this beast of a pike without any injury to the pike or yourself.

Being considerate I figured just out of common courtesy to my buddy I would have a laugh and have a look at what he calls

A History of Diecast Model Cars

Dec 07, 2008 @ 04:42 pm by articles

There is quite a long history of craftsmen building detailed miniature replicas of transport vehicles and machinery, but it wasn’t until nineteen thirty four that die cast model cars and trucks arrived on the scene in any great numbers.

At that time the replica cars and trucks were not regarded as collectible in their own right – they were produced to lend added realism to model train sets.

Ever since the early nineteen twenties Hornby had made ever more complicated train sets. One of the sets, Meccano Set No 21, was embellished with six diecast models, consisting of a sports coupe, a motor truck, a sports car, a delivery van, an army tank and a farm tractor. These were the first Dinky models, issued under the “Meccano Modelled Miniatures” label, as Set No. 22.

These early diecast cars were pretty crude by modern standards, being cast from an alloy containing high lead content which did not lend itself to a high degree of detail. What’s more they didn’t try to depict real automobiles, although the sports car looked a bit like the SS1, a popular make at that time and a forerunner of the Jaguar.

In terms of scale, they weren’t well suited to the railway sets which they were intended to complement.

It soon became apparent, however, that there was a healthy market for models like this, and it was not long before individual die-cast models based on real cars and trucks were produced and sold separately. Dinky Set 30 was modeled on the Rolls Royce, Set 36A on the Armstrong Siddely, 36B a Bentley, and 36F was a Salmon sports car.

With the passage of time the quality of detail and reproduction hugely improved. The Dinky sets had diecast alloy bodies and tinplate radiators and rubber tyres. The later replicas also had passengers and drivers. The Armstrong Siddely had a footman and chauffeur. Just before World War Two some excellent military models were produced, including tanks with rotating turrets and catterpillar tracks.

Few models from that period have survived in acceptable condition, and examples in acceptable condition are extremely collectible – pre-war Dinky models can command prices up to $1000 in auction.

In the 1950s, new production techniques introduced a new era in the history of diecast model cars. Lesney, famous for their splendid Coronation Coach, and Corgi, (“the ones with the windows”), entered the market to compete with Dinky.

This new generation of die cast vehicles, with finer detail, better running gear, and better color finish, leads up to the present day, where millions of precision diecast replica models are produced, at very reasonable prices for collectors. For example, just take a look at these diecast aircraft models. The diecast model car industry has come a long way since the 1930s.

And, better not forget, eBay can be a good source for those hard to find, rare diecast replicas: classic diecast auctions.

Typical Therapy Process For A Mid Back Pain Patient and The DRX9000

Dec 07, 2008 @ 03:47 pm by articles

As our society continues to grow and our personal health diminishes due to poor eating habits or stress, the number of back pain problems may increase dramatically over the next decade. Traditional treatment methods for the relief of back pain have remained constant, but a relatively new treatment option referred to as non-surgical spinal decompression therapy utilizing the DRX9000, has demonstrated great promise in the treatment of chronic back pain. Up to this point, it has not been entirely integrated into the continuum of care in treating back pain, but that has not stopped many physicians from offering or recommending the treatment to their patients.

There are hundreds of doctors among the various specialties that are currently offering this treatment option. Most specialists offer back pain sufferers some sort of technique or a particular level of expertise. Although the backgrounds and expertise of physicians that offer this particular treatment option may vary, the outcome of the DRX9000 protocol and the health benefits that result from treatment on the DRX9000 remain consistent.

The Initial Process

Most back pain sufferers begin their treatment process at the general practitioner’s office. Considering back pain is a common problem, it would be easy to assume that the general practitioner is an expert in the treatment of back pain. This may not be the case.

The primary care physician will assist in determining if the pain is serious or not. After reviewing the medical history and the test results of the patient, the primary care physician will then determine what the next step should be. Pain medication, bed rest and exercise may be prescribed. In addition, a visit with a back pain specialist may be recommended.

Back Pain Doctors Who May Offer the DRX9000 Treatment

In the past, chiropractic care was not given much attention by the medical community. However, chiropractors are now considered to be the alternative treatment experts by providing care through spinal adjustments. Similar to how medical doctors have distinct specialties, chiropractic care techniques may differ among chiropractors.

Osteopaths look at a patient from a more “complete” point of view. They may look into environmental, stress, social, psychological and physical factors. Although an osteopath may prescribe pain medication and surgery, they focus more on the relationship of the organs and the musculoskeletal system. Emphasizing a holistic approach, osteopaths focus on the benefits of spinal manipulation.

A physical therapist manually focuses on the joints, muscles and soft tissues. Along with prescribed treatment, a physical therapist may also educate patients on how to properly stretch and move about with a painful back. Most physical therapists today specialize in spine and neck therapy.

A medical doctor who specializes in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and spinal cord injuries is the physiatrist. A physiatrist may also have a subspecialty in sports medicine. They may treat back injuries or post-surgery problems with epidural injections. However, considered to be experts in non-surgical treatment options, a physiatrist may stick to an exercise regimen and the use of back braces.

As a bone and joints specialist, an orthopedist may meet with patients at all levels of care. An orthopedist may prescribe drugs, along with tests to determine if a patient is a surgical candidate. Even though orthopedic surgeons administer surgical procedures, they often treat patients non-surgically.

Neurosurgeons diagnose and treat disorders of the spine, nerve tissue and peripheral nerves both non-surgically and surgically.

As more back pain specialists learn about the healthcare benefits of utilizing the DRX9000 for the treatment of back pain, the more likely it is to be offered by most specialties. Although non-surgical spinal decompression therapy has not yet been incorporated into the established curriculum of back pain care, it may not be long before it is considered the standard for the treatment of back pain.

If you are suffering from a back pain condition and would like to find out if you’re a candidate for this procedure, contact your nearest DRX9000 physician to learn more.

BPA Bottles and your Baby’s Health

Dec 07, 2008 @ 03:28 pm by articles

The FDA has decided that bisphenol A (BPA), which is the questionable chemical found in hard, clear plastic and in the lining of cans and tins, is perfectly safe. But Health Canada has just declared that BPA is hazardous to human health and especially to babies. Canada is the first country to ban bpa baby bottles. Should we be following suite in banning bpa bottles?

BPA baby bottles were the primary target of Health Canada, with other consumer products to follow. The Food and Drug Administration is in fact in a bind. For several years, the agency has insisted that baby bottles, water bottles and other beverage and food containers with BPA bear no risk. Even as researchers discovered evidence that BPA can mimic estrogen and upset hormone balance in animals, the FDA have reinforced the chemical industry’s take that there is nothing to worry about.

The FDA’s conclusion came in lieu of findings from the National Toxicology Program that bisphenol A might trigger behavioral and neural effects in fetuses, babies and very young children. Health Canada has put BPA on a list of toxic substances and ban it from baby bottles immediately.

Virtually all North Americans have some BPA circulating throughout their bodies. That is because BPA believe it or not is found in the plastic lining of most canned food. It is almost impossible to avoid exposure to BPA if you use any cans or hard, clear plastic containers.

In the meantime, millions of American parents are wondering whether they should throw out their bpa bottles and wondering what damage has already been done to their children. Most parents have opted for buying bpa free bottles. Many people who have studied bisphenol A are very worried enough to avoid it entirely in their own homes.

We have interviewed experts who advise the public not to use any plastic containers in the microwave. To avoid bisphenol A, we should look for food storage containers that are labeled BPA free or that are not clear, hard polycarbonate plastic. Some even go as far as to recommend avoiding the use of canned food.

Plastic is everywhere we look and is an integral part of our lives. It is almost impossible to find things like juice or ketchup in glass containers any more. Soft plastics used in toys, flexible containers and even teethers may contain phthalates – which is another potential hormone disturber. The bottom line is that as a society we may need to rethink how we are dependent on plastic.

Captializing on Real Estate in Down Real Estate Markets

Dec 07, 2008 @ 02:26 pm by articles

When the location is flat you will have to understand up front that buying a home for flipping real estate will take expertise. You do not want to have to restrict yourself to paying for houses that you can live in. That means you buy a house and live in it until you flip it. The location now has a ton of properties with little or no equity.

You will not be able to pass it on for much higher than what the location can sustain. This is why you need to take ownership of at a significant discount to make a acceptable profit. Now your home compliments the area and is ready to be put back on the real estate market. Depending on your experience and the location conditions, you can call a real estate agent to give you a fair market value or you can assign the home yourself.

Buyers often called home flippers begin by researching on prices in the local areas. Then, they sift through property listings with the words must sell fast, needs fixing up or is empty. It is because of this that several groups who are flipping houses are doing so well. It takes calculated risks to make sure your profits far exceed your invested time and money getting the house successfully turned. This is why better low issue strategy angles like these and wholesaling houses are encouraged.
