Businesses that want to get closer to their customers are transforming their conventional call centers into multi-channel contact centers that support telephone, e-mail and the Web. Call centers with these new revenue goals quickly discover that customers calling with problems and complaints are not as likely to respond positively to sales offers as pro-actively contacted customers are. Monthly Wall Calendars

Oct 26, 2008 @ 08:08 pm by articles

Calendars function as part of an overall timekeeping system where time of day and date together mark a specific moment in time. In today’s modern world, the written calendar is no longer essential as part of these systems, as the invention of highly accurate clocks have made it possible to record time independent of astronomical events.

The normal purpose of calendars is for the identification of days so we can be informed about future events and to keep a record of when that event took place. The significance of days may be tied to civil, social or religious reasons. Calendars provide ways of determining which days are to be religious or civil holidays, which days mark the start and end of accounting periods for busineses, and which of the days will have significance of a legal nature, such as what day taxes are due or when a contract will expire. Calendars also give us other information such as when each season starts and ends.

The international standard for calendars is the Gregorian Calendar, which is in use today almost everywhere around the world.

People use calendars in order to manage their activities and time and their personal schedules, especially when they have multiple school, family and work commitments. Some people may use multiple systems, and may make use of a family calendar and a business calendar in order to prevent them from overcommitting their precious time.

Calendars are often a physical device such as cardboard and paper. These can be wall calendars or desktop calendars. Paper calendars have one or two sheets that can show single days, weeks, months, or an entire year. Sheets for a single days easily show both the date and the weekday. Sheets for multiple days show tables in order to make the conversion from weekday to date and back. By crossing out days past, it can show you the current date and weekday.

Wall calendars are calendars designed to be hung on a wall. Wall calendars normally consist of a group of 12 images (one for each month) on a particular subject. These can include car calendars, dog calendars, movie calendars etc. The size of wall calendars differ; 12 inches by 12 inches with the calendar closed being the regular size in the USA and Canada.

Grandma Wants a Nintendo Wii?

Oct 26, 2008 @ 05:06 pm by articles

Are you one of those people who can remember playing board games with your grandparents? I sure can. My grandmother would sometimes play marbles with me. Well, that’s what we called it. I think it really has another name but that’s not important. I thought it was very special when grandma would play too. Whatever you did, do not beat grandma at marbles because she was likely to throw the marble board if you did! I loved playing with my grandmother but she did not do that too often (at least from a kid’s prospective). Now that I am older, I can understand why she did not.

Outsmart the Grand Kids

Times have changed, and the games the kids play have changed too. Now board games have been replaced by video games for the younger generations. So if you want to be a “hip” grandparent, you have to be willing to learn something new (in other words, video games). Don’t worry, you can beat them at their own game by selecting a video game console that is senior friendly. The Nintendo Wii is designed to detect the motion of your hands and arms which is far easier than having to have the fastest fingers in the world like other video game systems. Also, the target audience for the Nintendo Wii games is a younger crowd than for other video game consoles. This means that the games being sold are likely to be more family appropriate. However, be sure you check the ratings on the game box and read some reviews before buying.

Enjoy a great Past-time

So, that is nice that my grand kids will like it but what do I do with it when the grand kids are not visiting? That’s easy. You play some games yourself. There are several games that are just downright fun to play. You can have a game night between you and your spouse or invite some friends over for a video game party. Some of the fun games are: Wii Party Games, Wii Sports (like tennis, baseball, and bowling), and Wii Big Brain Academy Wii Degree. You can find other games that peak your interests on our website in our Electronics section’s Nintendo Wii and Accessories (just click the link).

Buy it for your Health

Still not convinced? Well, I am not finished yet. Do you ever worry about your health? Have you ever thought about getting a debilitating disease like Alzheimer’s disease? What if there was something you could do to help prevent or slow down the onset of such dreaded diseases? Would you try it? What if this solution also costs way less than the doctor’s bills you would get if you got a disease that incapacitated you? So, what is this great thing that may help prevent or slow down the effects of aging on your body? The Nintendo Wii is the answer! Want to know more about how this is possible? You can read about it in this review titled “Can the Nintendo Wii help prevent Alzheimer’s Disease?”

Donating Car Parts and Broken Autos To Charities

Oct 26, 2008 @ 03:10 pm by articles

After the updating of the laws concerning vehicle donations to charity, cars that are not running have been donated at a lower rate than was the case only some years ago, but even so, it doesn’t mean you have to keep that old car. It’s still possible to donate it to charity, albeit the tax deduction reward has been considerably reduced.

Normally, when you donate a vehicle that no longer runs, it will get towed away and sold, in essence, as a parts car. Though the majority of auto donations for autos in such a state are handled by a third-party (usually a for-profit company) agent as opposed to the charity itself, you are still able to get the old jalopy hauled away.

Nevertheless, you should know that that the deduction value which you can claim for a car sold on the wholesale market is considerably limited by the fractional amount it is likely to be sold for in addition to the overhead fees that are taken off the top by a third-party agent, the remaining value that is in fact given to the charity from the sale of the donated automobile is the extent of what may be written off under the new laws.

Ordinarily, the highest values for donated vehicles are obtained for cars and trucks that are still roadworthy, although some agencies will take some broken down cars and trucks for repair. If you can find an organization that has an ongoing mission of automotive training, even a non-working car has the possibility to be deducted at the higher “fair market value” in such cases.

Consequently, no matter how much it’s not running, such donated vehicles are still accepted by a numerous charities which accept automobile donations. Frequently, they will be bigger or national charities that don’t have a particular mission based on getting running cars to people. Unless there’s something especially cool or unique about your donated vehicle that would make it an ideal project car, you can presume that it will be sold for scrap or parts at a wholesale auction.

In spite of alterations to the law, there are still a lot of places that accept donated cars that are no longer running. The thing you have to consider is whether or not it has possibility of being fixed up for sale as a running vehicle.

How to choose the best Aerobic Activity Program

Oct 26, 2008 @ 02:00 am by articles

Do you exercise often? This question is so important that everyone should be asking themselves. Fitness is the most important fact in staying healthy and living well. Now, what is aerobic activity? Its aids range from simple steppers, or jump ropes, to exotic machines whose function is nearly impossible to sort out. On top of it all, doing aerobics I feel more fit and attractive than I ever have before. Even when I was 18 years old and in the prime of my life, I did not feel half this healthy, but now I just feel great.

There are many aerobic exercise programs, so it is important – one might say crucial – to find the one that is right for you. For me personally, I have always hated jogging, although it is the most simple and straight forward of aerobic exercises. You can take advantage of aerobic activity, and every people no matter what age should be encouraged to engage in regular exercise. Regular aerobic activity can be tailored to suit your personal needs, even if there are chronic health conditions present.

The best aerobic exercise program that I found online creates what seems to be the full body workout. It has a number of routines with feedback from a personal trainer, that create strength, flexibility, and a feeling of radiant health that I have simply never ever had before.

Personally, my favorite aerobic activity is one that quite a few experts have agreed is one of the most healthy forms of exercise workouts: I love swimming and walking. A work out does not necessarily have to strenuous to be effective. The old adage “no pain no gain” is simply not true, in fact it is quite the opposite.
