I recently launched a new online business technical training site after a pre-launch period of about three weeks. During that period I did some promotion of the site and had a form on the landing page to collect names and email addresses of those interested in knowing when the site went live.
A total of 78 people opted in and when the site went live, of course, I emailed those folks to let them know. One of those people turned out to be a fellow marketer living about 40 minutes from me. She emailed me to let me know that a few days prior to the site launch.
Launch day came and I got another email from her saying how she was sorry, but she “couldn’t afford [my] prices” and she wouldn’t be signing up for the site. She then went into a long dissertation about how she had to be very careful how she spent her money and how there are lots of scam artists out there and that she had the perfect plan for making her fortune on the Internet.
You ready? Here’s the plan:
- Put up a squeeze page and collect a bunch of names and emails
- Get those people to trust her
- Join an affiliate program and sell the product to her list
Here I’d been working my tail off for almost two years to get this Internet marketing thing figured out and she had it down to three simple steps! Who knew?!?
Obviously, she left out a few details in the master plan, like how she was going to get people to visit her squeeze page and leave their contact info so that she could then convince them she was trustworthy. I wrote back to her and told her that if she already knew how to put up a squeeze page and drive traffic to it she didn’t need my training anyway. I wondered what had prompted her to sign up for my prenotification list in the first place, but decided not to ask.
I had previously asked her what she felt was a reasonable price for online business technical training, but never got an answer. I felt (and still do) the charter membership rate was very reasonable, maybe even too reasonable, but it’s all in the eye of the beholder. I restrained myself from asking her how she expected to build an online business with a mindset that was afraid to spend a few dollars a month for training, but since she apparently doesn’t need training, the point is moot anyway.
The point of this is that I can recall when I first started out and the idea of committing to spending more than a few bucks a month was a little scary. The reason it was scary was that I didn’t know if I was going to generate enough revenue to cover it.
That can be a big hurdle for people to get over. It often entails being willing to go ahead and commit to the monthly expense and trusting that the investment will help the business generate the necessary revenue. It also requires some patience as the cash flow may not increase dramatically, but slowly over time.
The key is to make the commitment and put in the required effort. If it doesn’t pay off, you’ll have learned something and you can go on to the next thing. Chances are, however, if you give it sufficient time to work, the results will be well worth the investment.

Recently I discovered the idea of colon cleaning and started looking for a place that has good information about how to colon cleanse and maybe some product information. Fortunately, I came across a good site that has both; a bunch of articles on colon cleaning and even shows product information.
One article that got my attention is one that talks about different colon cleanser choices. I never thought it was more involved than just taking a laxative, which by the way is not advocated. There is more to cleansing the colon than just going to john more frequently. That and possibly end up hooked on laxatives in the long term.
So in my pursuit to learn about colon cleansing and colon cleansers I discovered quite a bit and averted making a bad choice in how to go about the whole procedure. The first being the laxative thing I already mentioned. Another is to be on the look out for pills that are really just laxatives in camouflage. The last thing I want is to believe I’m are doing something sound and really just growing a laxative habit.
I see all the product makers hype weight loss as a side effect of a colon cleaning. That’s not my first concern but it is a welcome side effect. Who wouldn’t enjoy a little extra weight loss in America today? If I can get healthier and lose a little weight at the same time, I’m all for it.
Here’s to better health, a little weight loss and hoping that this colon cleansing thing doesn’t leave me afraid to be more than 10 feet from the tiolet.

MLM is nothing more than the sales manager earning a commission on the sales representatives. He trained them why shouldn’t he receive a commission for that training? MLM is traditionally thought of as door to door selling. This is due to the history of MLM companies and many people’s first experiences involved this type of direct sales program. MLM is very attractive, however, because it sells hope and appears to be outside the mainstream of business as usual. It promises wealth and independence to all.MLM is a simple, part time and low risk way for full time workers to fill this need. To put it simply, as long as people need money MLM will ALWAYS be there to fill that need.
Everyone can take part in it, but not everyone can be successful. Those who succeed do things that the failures do not do. Everyone is selling something. Everyone who is in the Business should be making RETAIL PROFITS plus a commission from their own personal sales volumes as well as the commissions from all the Leveraged Sales Volume from those in their DownLines.
I learned a great deal from these leaders, not just from the things that they taught me, but from my own observations of them. I noticed that all of them had similar characteristics that helped them achieve the kind of success that so many of us dream about.
1. They used their own products or services and could explain why you should use them. (They were a product of the product.) 2. They had a reason for doing the business and a business plan. 3. They let the tools do the selling. 4. They were always learning more about the business. 5. They stayed in the game long enough to have a chance to succeed. By holding strong to these principles, these people made millions. Sound like you have those qualities? I’ll tell you something: you don’t have to be born with them. Some of them are developed by smart business practices and patience, and anyone of us can develop those characteristics.

Most of us wouldn’t complain if we hadmore money. It would allow us to buy homes, pay for our childrens school, etc. But even though you have all these good intentions, it can be difficult to motivate yourself to save the money you need. However, when you have these sorts of financial goals, you need to find a way to inspire yourself and to make sure that your bank accounts are growing.
1) Create a target goal. When you want to save a certain amount of money by a certain date, make a contest out of it. Tell yourself (and anyone else who cares) that you want to save so much money by a certain time period and then make plans to do it. By realizing that you only have a limited time in which to do something, you have a much stronger chance of reaching your goal.
2) Learn to invest. Taking a cautious approach is always good here. Make sure you spend plenty of time learning and studying the topics. Books such as Planet Wealth Affiliate are cheap and don’t commit you to any more than just learning the basics, if that is what you want.
3) Only check in with your savings once in a while. Instead of watching your savings everyday, check in with your savings one a week or a month or whenever you make another deposit. Instead, set up automatic withdrawals from your checking accounts or paychecks to ensure that you are saving, but that you don’t even have to lift a finger.

When asked what’s the single most important thing they can do for their business, most people will give any of a number of different answers. Most will be very important, but in my opinion, nothing is more critical than making sure your computer is backed up!
A current backup of your computer will be a lifesaver when (note I didn’t say if) your hard drive fails. Hard drives can run for years with no problems, but sooner or later they all fail.
I know of at least one Internet entrepreneur who recently had a hard drive crash and lost almost a week of time rebuilding his business data. The irony is that he’s a former computer professional who’s been in the business well over 20 years and should know better.
We all get complacent. I’m as guilty as the next person, but I’m sufficiently paranoid that I keep searching for good automatic backup methods. I’m investigating various backup methods including online backups and external hard drives.
Each of these requires software to actually transfer the files to the storage media. Finding the right combination is a challenge, but well worth the effort.
Hard drives are extremely cheap these days. The excuse that backing up takes too much disk space is no longer valid. For around $100 you can get external hard drives of 320MB or larger. The price per gigabyte of storage continues to drop and available drives have up to 1 terabyte (that’s 1,000 GB!) of capacity for less than $200.
Software for backups is readily available and fairly inexpensive, as well. Many hard drives come with backup software so there’s no additional cost beyond the cost of the drive.
Whichever software and media solution you choose, do yourself a huge favor and test it thoroughly before you assume it’s working. Backup your system, then restore the files from the backup, if possible. At least verify that the files on the backup media are valid. There’s nothing quite so depressing as to think you’re backed up only to find that the backup is no good.
